THE QUILTER'S CLOSETA quilter's exchange market.

Shipping and returns

Getting the quilt to you.

Every quilt is one of one, packed by the maker and shipped with tracking. Here is how it works, and what happens if something is not right.

Shipping

Quilts ship by UPS Ground, insured and tracked. The buyer pays the shipping cost, shown at checkout before you pay. The rate is set by the quilt's packed weight and the distance from the maker's studio to your address, so you always see the real cost, not a marked-up estimate.

Most makers pack and drop off within two business days of a sale. Some set a longer window, always shown on the listing. Once the quilt is on its way, you get a UPS tracking number by email and on your order page.

Local pickup

Some makers offer local pickup instead of shipping, available within about 50 miles of their studio. When a listing is pickup only, there is no shipping charge, and you and the maker arrange a time and place after the sale.

Returns and refunds

Because each quilt is unique and made by hand, small variations in color and texture are part of the work, not flaws. That said, the piece you receive should match the one you saw.

You have 14 days after delivery to request a refund if a quilt arrives materially different from its listing, for example a color that was misrepresented, or damage in transit. Request a refund from your order page, tell the maker what went wrong, and they will review it. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, and can take a few business days to appear.

Change-of-mind returns are at the maker's discretion. Reach out through your order and they will do their best to help.
